New online dashboard offers in-depth look at Canada’s $10-billion investment in research infrastructure

Advanced search tool allows users to view more than 12,500 research infrastructure projects and their impact on Canadian research

OTTAWA, ONT. — The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) has launched a new feature on Innovation.ca to help visitors delve further into the extent of our investments in Canada’s research enterprise.

Our new funded projects dashboard showcases the more than 12,500 research infrastructure projects we have funded over the past 25 years. That’s an investment of nearly $10 billion in projects at 172 research institutions in 80 municipalities across Canada.

Among other things, the new dashboard allows visitors to:

  • See a summary of CFI investments, including project name, total contribution, institution, funding competition and year of award
  • Scroll over a map view that breaks down funding by province and territory
  • Search through the infrastructure projects we have supported and filter the results by field of research, institution or funding competition.

This new dashboard is part of our commitment to be transparent and accountable for the investments we make.
