OTTAWA, ONTARIO — As part of the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s 20th anniversary celebration, we have partnered with The Globe and Mail and Le Droit to tell stories from across Canada of how research builds communities.

La recherche au service de ma collectivité” came out as a special supplement in Le Droit, La Presse and a number of regional newspapers on November 19. The supplement included an interview with CFI President and CEO, Gilles Patry, where he reflects on the success of the CFI over the last 20 years. A 20-page supplement in The Globe and Mail, “Excellence in Research and Innovation,” came out November 22. It included an opinion piece by Dr. Patry, “A bold vision from 20 years ago is more relevant than ever,” which emphasized the continued importance of the CFI in keeping Canadian research at the cutting edge.

In addition, Dr. Patry had an opinion piece, “Turning the Tide for Innovation in Canada,” in the Canada’s Innovation Leaders supplement inserted in The National Post and The Ottawa Citizen on November 17 and 18, respectively. The article looks at what’s needed in Canada’s research landscape to keep the country innovative.

Congratulations to Canada’s research community for sharing how their work is making a difference.
