Technology transfer centre helps a Quebec company test and improve the textiles used in uniforms and special garments
June 3, 2014

Logistik Unicorp Inc., which employs 180 people in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., manages a wide range of uniform programs for large corporations and government clients in Canada and around the world. The company’s work ranges from buying and testing raw materials to working with manufacturers. The uniforms produced include corporate wear, work wear and military garments.

The company credits part of its success to an ongoing collaboration with CTT Group, a CFI-funded technology transfer centre specializing in textiles at Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe near Montréal. Researchers at the centre test the properties of textiles that Logistik uses for bidding on and fulfilling contracts. The company is also working with researchers to develop a new generation of textiles that will improve the comfort and safety of firefighting and military uniforms.
