OTTAWA, ONTARIO — The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) is pleased to welcome one of the most distinguished scholars in the field of genomics and ethics as its keynote speaker at the CFI’s upcoming Annual Public Meeting. Dr. Bartha Knoppers, Director of the Centre of Genomics and Policy at McGill University, will share her insights on responsibly sharing genomic and health-related information in the age of big data. The event will be held at 8 a.m. on December 15, 2015 in Ottawa.
In addition to the keynote address, Dr. Kevin Smith, Chair of the CFI’s Board of Directors will offer his remarks about the progress the foundation has made during this past fiscal year. Dr. Gilles Patry, President and CEO of the CFI, will then forecast the CFI’s activities and strategic direction through the coming fiscal year.

Members of the public, government, media, academia and the research policy community are encouraged to attend to learn more about the CFI’s activities along with how the CFI continues to support Canada’s researchers by investing in state-of-the-art labs and facilities at universities, colleges and research institutions across the country.
