OTTAWA, August 25, 2014 — The young people heading back to school next week — from kindergartners to university frosh — represent a new generation that will be more educated, connected and sophisticated than any that has come before. Here is a brief list of CFI-funded researchers across Canada who are developing the curricula and classrooms to prepare students for the world they will inherit.

In June 2014, the Canada Foundation for Innovation held a series of information sessions in order to seek input from institutions and communities in metropolitan centres across Canada on CFI’s cyber-infrastructure initiative.

The goal of these consultations was to gather as much feedback as possible to assist in the development of a draft Call for Proposals.

NIAGARA FALLS May 31, 2014 – Today, the CFI hosted a panel of experts - university researchers and their industry and municipal partners - who explained how their research collaborations are going a long way to help close Canada's "infrastructure gap." The value of current infrastructure relative to the value of infrastructure that is needed is wide and growing wider every day. Estimates for the cost to close this gap hover in the $100 billion range.
