Jobs for fighting infectious disease
Over 13,000 days of work for more than 400 people — most from the Saskatoon region — went into creating the University of Saskatchewan’s International Vaccine Centre (InterVac), one of the largest labs of its kind in North America. When it becomes fully operational in 2012, InterVac will generate 60 permanent high-quality jobs in the city, including researchers, technicians, engineers and other skilled personnel.
InterVac is Canada’s pre-eminent research centre to develop and test vaccines and effective therapeutic methods to control infectious diseases in humans and animals.
