This fall, the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) plans to launch a new online resource that will make it easier for businesses to connect with research facilities at universities, colleges and research hospitals across Canada to establish research partnerships and collaborations.

Through this new CFI laboratory and facility listing, businesses and other organizations seeking help with their research and innovation needs will find specialized facilities, equipment and expertise available right in their backyard — or elsewhere in Canada — in virtually every discipline.

Through the 2012 Economic Action Plan, the Government of Canada has provided the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) with $ 500 million in support of its core activities. In addition, the 2013 Economic Action Plan announced that $225 million of unallocated interest income generated by the CFI will be committed to “advanced research infrastructure priorities and sustaining the long-term operations of the Foundation”.

The Canada Foundation for innovation (CFI) is pleased to announce its participation in the 11th College and Community Innovation Program - Innovation Enhancement (CCI-IE) Grants Competition managed by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) in collaboration with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). This joint initiative will foster partnerships between colleges and the private sector that will lead to business innovation locally, regionally and nationally.
