CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO  — Today, Conestoga College officially opens its Centre for Smart Manufacturing (CSM) on its Cambridge campus, a cutting-edge facility aimed at giving local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) an affordable platform on which to test their manufacturing processes. Manufacturing is among the Waterloo region's most important economic sectors, accounting for approximately 20 percent of its workforce.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO — The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) released a Call for Proposals today for its newest funding opportunity: the Cyberinfrastructure Initiative.  The CFI has allocated up to $50 million in funding for cyberinfrastructure to encourage the country’s researchers to work together and with their counterparts in data science, analytics and software development to adopt and develop new ways to make better use of increasingly complex data sets.
