Ottawa, July 10, 2001…Dr. David Strangway, President and CEO of the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), today announced an investment of $14.6 million to support the development of advanced research facilities at 29 Canadian universities. The Honourable John Manley, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the announcement which took place at the University of Ottawa.

CFI is holding information sessions at various locations throughout Canada to provide detailed information on how to complete the financial reports and to answer any question institutions may have with respect to the completion of these reports. Financial reports for the cumulative period ending March 31, 2001 are due no later than June 15, 2001 for all projects having received CFI funds prior to April 1, 2001, regardless of whether the project was completed at March 31, 2001.
