Biography - Sandra Greer

Sandra Greer was the President and CEO of AMIRIX Systems Inc. from March 2002 to July 2012. While at AMIRIX, Ms. Greer oversaw the transformation of the organization from a modest fee-for-service research and development business to a successful product company that designs and manufactures acoustic telemetry equipment for fish migration and behavior studies sold throughout the world. Ms. Greer’s vision and leadership have helped AMIRIX triple its revenue growth and more than double its number of employees.

Appointed by the Minister of Economic Development in Nova Scotia, Ms. Greer serves as a Member of the Industrial Expansion Fund (IEF) Advisory Panel. She is the 2nd Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Associated Alumni of Acadia University, and was appointed on the Board of Governors of the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) in 2004, where she served as Chair from 2008-10. Ms. Greer is also a past director of the Board of the Discovery Centre in Halifax.

Ms. Greer supports various charities in her region, such as Feed Nova Scotia and the Metro United Way. She is a member of the AMIRIX/VEMCO MS Bike Tour team and has participated in the NSCC’s “Swim for the College” event.

A graduate of Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1985, Ms. Greer also completed a Queen’s University School of Business Executive Development program and is a Quantum Shift Fellow of the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
