Biography – John Anthony Boeckh
Mr. Tony Boeckh is President of Boeckh Investments Inc., a family office and private investment firm specializing in small public companies, principally in Canada. Currently, he writes The Boeckh Investment Letter and recently authored The Great Reflation (John Wiley & Sons, 2010). From 1968 until 2002, he was owner and Editor-in-Chief of BCA Research, known for the Bank Credit Analyst and related international investment publications.
From 1985-99, Mr. Boeckh was Chairman of Greydanus, Boeckh and Associates, a fixed income investment firm which managed $2 billion in assets when it was sold to TD Bank in December 1999.
Mr. Boeckh is Chair of the Graham Boeckh Foundation, a private family foundation established in honour of his son, which funds initiatives in the area of mental health and other related disciplines. Among other volunteer activities, Mr. Boeckh has served as Vice-Chair and Chair of the NeuroScience Canada Partnership and NeuroScience Canada Foundation, and as a member of the Board of the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
Mr. Boeckh taught economics and finance at McGill University from 1968 to 1973. He has lectured at economic, financial and investment seminars and conferences in various international centres in North America, Asia and Europe. He was a founding trustee of the Fraser Institute and has a PhD in finance and economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a B.Com from the University of Toronto.
