OTTAWA, ONTARIO ‒ The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) welcomes the establishment of the Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) in response to the recommendations made in the Fundamental Science Review.

The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, and the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Health, today announced the creation of the CRCC to improve collaboration among the granting councils and the CFI to the benefit of the Canadian research community.

The Foundation welcomes the opportunity to work more closely with the granting councils, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), and the Deputy Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and the Deputy Minister of Health Canada to improve how we support our scientists.

Our president and CEO, Roseann O’Reilly Runte, looks forward to attending the Committee meetings to contribute the CFI’s valuable standpoint on the research infrastructure needs of scientists and scholars, and to play a role in bolstering Canada’s support for science.
