The CFI hosted a special evening to celebrate accomplishments in Canadian research, with a look to the future of research funding and policy in Canada. The Master of Ceremonies was Jay Ingram, Host and Producer, Discovery Channel. Guest speaker was Kevin Lynch, Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet. Attendees included the heads of research institutions, presidents of funding agencies, parliamentarians, senior government officials, as well as other honored guests who have been instrumental in the creation and evolution of the CFI since 1997.

At the CFI's Open Doors event at the University of Calgary, Suzanne Corbeil is interviewed by Cheryl Croucher regarding the 10th anniversary for the Canada Foundation for Innovation. The program aired on CKUA public radio, available throughout the province of Alberta. John Kelly MD, Norka Marcano, and David Foster are three PhD students helped by CFI funding. UofC's Dr. Stuart Kauffman gives an update on the Institute for Biocomplexity and Informatics.
