A Decade of Results Through Innovation

Anti-cancer therapies. Clean energy. Safer food. Better transportation. Robotic surgery.

Great scientific breakthroughs spring from the minds of great researchers. But without the infrastructure—state-of-the-art equipment, laboratories, buildings, and information technology—there can be no breakthroughs.

That’s where the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) comes in. The CFI is the only national organization focused on providing infrastructure—a cornerstone of innovation and discovery that enables leading-edge research and training.

The CFI supports all areas of the research and development spectrum while encouraging the collaborative relationships that lead to innovation. We know that innovation results in increased competitiveness and productivity, and that leads to prosperity.

Since its creation in 1997, the CFI has committed $3.8 billion in support of 5,585 projects at 128 research institutions in 64 municipalities across Canada.

A decade of results through innovation.
And a promising future for all Canadians.
